Lant Street
Dickens woz ‘ere. He played truant in Lant while his dad was doing time for debt at Marshalsea prison. It was a slum back then, but it led to some of the greatest characters ever created. His legacy to Lant is like the fab four to Liverpool. Little Dorrit Park. Pickwick street. Even the school is named after him. Today, it hosts filmmakers, vintners and a cracking pub, the Gladstone.
