Slip through the entrance on Union St which doubles as an art gallery, to The School House, run by The Gentlemen Baristas; a fully covered conservatory with 20 tables and a courtyard complete with a water feature and living wall awaits you, complete with 10-15 tables. Come rain or shine, this is the place to dine.
Start with a flat white using their new house blend Deerstalker coffee. With tasting notes of milk chocolate, fudge, red apple and hazelnut, Deerstalker is made using a 50/50 ratio of coffees from Colombia and Brazil. For brunch choose from a delightful menu including Cacklebean eggs your way housemade spice tomato relish, micro herbs on sourdough toast, Beetroot hummus, kale, avocado, cherry tomato, candy beetroot, micro herbs on seeded rye bread. Or check out the selection of filled croissants including Nduja, garlic & basil sauce and rocket or the countertop salad selection.
Mingle with actors working at the rehearsal studios at this space established by philanthropist John Jerwood, a major force in the vibrancy and creativity of the arts in the UK, you never know who you might spot.
