The Rose Playhouse
The world’s a stage, and this was his first. It’s 1587, Bankside is a bear-pit of debauchery and Philip Henslowe has a dream with a thatch roof. The Rose Playhouse is built and Shakespeare, Marlowe, Dekker & co have a place to perform their work. Zoom 401 years forward and ruins are found along with a hazelnut floor (‘topic’ for discussion, no doubt). Rose gives birth to The Globe, while doing the dirty work.
